Dame Susan Langley, elected as the 697th Lady Mayoress of London, is notable as the third woman to hold the role. Dame Susan Langley brings with her a background as a businesswoman and civic leader, mainly involved in the insurance industry.

The Lady Mayoress Show (formally known as Lord Mayor’s) is one of the best-known annual events in the city; a pageant-esque parade through the City Square Mile, emphasising zero emissions and diversity to the world.

This year’s theme, “Women and Diversity,” resonated strongly with our brand, which proudly supports women in the industry every day. Our team walked in celebration of WIN (Women in News), one of our company’s network groups that champions women’s empowerment and inclusion across the business. The day brought with it a special appearance from a new character representing knowledge and delivery – a giant blue owl! An owl glove puppet was given to each VIP of the brand walkers who stood in an arc at Mansion House to deliver Lady Mayoress-Elect Dame Suan Langley her very own IOC puppet.
