Smiths News Launches New Online Store for Existing News and Magazines Customers
New website provides access to recognised brands with free delivery and no minimum order quantity on most lines.
Smiths News has launched a new website, giving existing news and magazines customers access to a wider range of products from recognised brands without the high minimum order quantities often required by suppliers.
Available at shop.smithsnews.co.uk, the website allows retailers to order products directly using a debit or credit card, with free delivery and no minimum order quantity on most lines.
The website features products from brands including Mattel, Top Trumps and TY, alongside Hallmark starter kits, card replenishment and gift wrap ranges.
Built specifically with independent retailers in mind, the platform makes it easier to trial new products, top up stock and buy little and often, reducing the need for large upfront investments. Retailers can also view profit on return for every line, save favourite products for repeat purchases and choose between guest or account checkout.
Michael Williams, Proposition Development Director at Smiths News, said:“Independent retailers tell us that managing cash flow and stock levels is more important than ever. This website gives our existing customers access to well-known brands without having to commit to large order quantities, making it easier to trial new products, respond to customer demand and invest with confidence.”
The website is now available to all existing Smiths News news and magazines customers.
While customers can begin using the platform immediately, the launch forms part of a six-month trial aimed at understanding how retailers use the website and the value it delivers. Insights from customer feedback, ordering patterns and repeat purchases will be used to evaluate the proposition and inform future development.
The product range will continue to expand throughout the trial, with new lines and brands being added regularly. Smiths News is also encouraging retailers to help shape the platform’s future by sharing feedback and suggestions on the products they would like to see included. Retailers can submit their ideas by emailing shop@smithsnews.co.uk.
The launch forms part of Smiths News’ ongoing commitment to helping independent retailers access products that support sales, profitability and growth.
